My family has gone to Dr Pavia for many years, he has always been kind and supportive and explianed various treatment options to me. I have recomeneded him to many of my friends, and they have been please with the service provided.
After seeing Dr Pavia for a number of years I fully trusted him as a dentist. All of the procedures he did were of a high standard.My 41 tooth was in bad shape from a childhood incident and the bone started eroding. Dr Pavia recommended I see a dentist who specialises in dental implants to treat this problem. The dentist he recommended, Dr Stolz from the Geelong Implant Center, turned out not to be a specialist at all but a regular dentist with subpar skills in the restoration of bone tissue. This dentist almost ruined any chance of me getting a dental implant. Luckily I found a specialist periodontist in Melbourne who has restored the state of my bone so it's thick enough for a dental implant.I was completely devastated about this whole ordeal. Dr Pavia was fully aware that he was sending me to a dentist who is not a specialist periodontist. Dr Pavia charges significantly for his fees. I was happy to pay every cent thinking I was getting the best quality service available. While Dr Pavia is skilled at performing simple procedures I would not recommend him for any serious dental work. The fact that he sent me to his buddy down the road instead of to a top quality periodontist shows that his business relationships are more important to him than the state of dental health of his patients. If you go to see this practice tread carefully and make sure to get a second or third opinion about any important matters.
