Extremely disappointed in our visit to Sailors Rest and wont be coming back anytime soon. We come in as two families wanting to watch the Cadel Evans Race at the finish line at around 1.30pm in the afternoon. We had 4 kids and 4 adults with us. No one was intoxicated or acting inappropriately. After ordering food and drinks for 8 people, I went up to the bar on level two where we were hoping to get jugs of soft drinks for the kids only to be told from a rough looking older female security guard number 23, its not a good look having children at the bar?? From my understanding it was a family friendly venue.We had headed into Sailors Rest from a recommendation they had just renovated and had great tapas type food. Beautiful venue, shame about the staff. After leaving to go to a friendly family accommodating venue we doubled back to head to our car only to find security guard number 23 sucking on a cigarette within a metre of the front door.
Brilliant location on the beautiful Geelong waterfront. Food and service were great, and now there's a variety of areas to choose - outside, conservatory, beer garden etc
Food was amazing but the downstairs balcony was hot & lots of sun glare. Would be perfect on an overcast or winter day. Nice elegant space.
Always a great place for a meal. I had a large seafood basket. Nicely cooked fish and calamari. Poached prawns, fresh oysters and smoked salmon. All done perfectly. The recent renovations really feel good and make the place so much larger. Perfect lunch with a couple of beers. Of course the weather was perfect in geelong.
Absolutely delicious calamari served with Asian salad and plum dressing. Was also reasonable priced ($19.5). Partner had the Wagyu beef burger and that looked good too. Renovations look fantastic.
